Couples worried about the seven-year itch should start to fret even sooner, according to a recent study that says the tipping point of restlessness now starts at three years. According to the report, commissioned by Warner Bros. for the release of the comedy Hall Pass, the top passion-killers are: weight gain, financial problems, inconvenient work hours, poor personal hygiene, overexposure to the in-laws, bad romance, too much drinking, lack of lingerie use and toenail clippings left on the bathroom floor. Couples’ tolerance levels appear to dip with the combination of longer working hours and financial worries, and this leads to a trend of individual holidays and weekends to get away from the other partner. Fifty-two percent of couples in new relationships reported having sex at least three times a week, but only 16% of couples in relationships three years or older have sex as often.
